Role Overview

The Web UX Designer will be responsible for creating cutting-edge web user interfaces and digital experiences that are elegant, intuitive, and emotionally resonant. This designer will lead a multidisciplinary team in conceptualizing and implementing transformative UX solutions, shaping the future of the company's online presence. You will champion user-centered design thinking while maintaining an obsessive focus on simplicity, craftsmanship, and the finest detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visionary Design Leadership: Lead the overall UX design strategy for web products, delivering high-impact, immersive experiences that set industry standards.
  • End-to-End Design Ownership: Own the UX design process from ideation to execution, ensuring seamless and cohesive web interactions across all touchpoints.
  • Innovative Conceptualization: Generate groundbreaking ideas for new UX paradigms that prioritize user needs, emotional connection, and aesthetic beauty.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, content creators, and marketing teams to translate vision into intuitive, scalable, and technically feasible solutions.
  • User Research and Insight: Employ advanced user research methods (interviews, ethnography, usability testing) to deeply understand user behavior and pain points, and use those insights to inform and evolve the UX strategy.
  • Pixel-Perfect Craftsmanship: Deliver exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that every element, from typography to motion, is perfectly aligned with the brand’s identity and usability goals.
  • Design Systems: Develop and evolve a cohesive design system that ensures consistency across platforms while allowing flexibility for innovation.
  • Prototyping and User Testing: Create and iterate on high-fidelity prototypes to validate design concepts, collecting and analyzing user feedback to refine designs.
  • Changing the toner in the copy machine and swapping out the 5-gallon Sparkletts water jugs from the water dispenser.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in UX and web design, preferably with experience in a leadership role at a top-tier design-forward company.
  • Design Excellence: A portfolio that demonstrates world-class web UX design with a deep understanding of interaction design, visual design, and a strong sense of aesthetics.
  • Innovative Thinking: Proven ability to push boundaries and redefine the status quo in web UX design, creating simple, yet deeply engaging user experiences.
  • Tool Mastery: Expertise with industry-standard design tools (Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) and familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Research-Driven Approach: Strong background in user research and usability testing with the ability to turn insights into actionable design strategies.
  • Leadership and Influence: Experience leading, mentoring, and inspiring design teams to perform at their best, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Ability to work closely with developers, marketers, and product owners to drive projects forward with a holistic approach.
  • Attention to Detail: Obsessive focus on detail, simplicity, and clarity, with a dedication to delivering pixel-perfect design.

Preferred Qualifications

These are the things that even if you have all of the above, we will still totally ignore or ghost you becase we prefer these qualifications. And don't get us started on SECRET qualifications.

  • Experience designing for brands with a reputation for innovative, design-centric thinking.
  • Understanding of motion design and the ability to integrate subtle animations to enhance user experience.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning as it pertains to UX optimization and personalized web experiences.
